Months later the truth still stands. They really needed to let others more able and willing do the writing.

Interviewer: If you could describe the season finale of Game of Thrones in one word, how would you describe it?
      Me: Oof.

I agree with you that Jaime was the best character in the show. He was absolutely my favorite, and then they went and made season 8. "To be honest I never really much for them, innocent or otherwise." Fuck you, that's completely out of character and we're not that stupid. They're cutting corners just to FORCE characters to get them to a specific point because they just wanted to end the great show that made them successful

I hated what they did to Dany. It was never foreshadowed or set up. I love the idea in concept, it would have been perfect to end the series on a bittersweet note. Because GOT cannot have a happy ending

There needs to be an autopsy on GOT. I thought D&D were huge fans of ASOIF but to watch season 8, you would think they hate everything about the series and purposely destroyed it. Where was George R.R. Martin? How did he let them ruin his creation to this extent?

Lord of the rings is the best..... Best characters, best story... Even best games like Shadow of Mordor (feels like fanfiction tho) but overall are top notch

i really like dany's arc at the beginning but after like season 4 i lost a lot of interest in her cause it was turning into the same thing, then arya's was the most interesting and when she finally left the nameless people and assassinated the freas or however you spell it, i was hoping she would do more shit like that but she didn't

Here's the thing though, with Fullmetal Alchemist we still got a story that felt satisfying even when it ran out of manga to adapt. Yeah it might have been kinda weird but the characters didn't betray their previous storylines and become different people. Can't say the same for Game of Thrones.

I've read that the problem was that D&D wanted to wind up the season fast in order to free them up to do their 'Star Wars' movie. If the last two seasons of GoT is an example of their writing skills, their movie may suck more than the prequel trilogy. Okay, that's probably not possible, but you know what I mean.

It would be poetic justice if all disappointed GoT fans decided to boycott D&D's movie in the theater.

19:05 There's a scene in 'A Feast for Crows' in which Cersei is watching the Tower of the Hand with wildfire, and talking about how beautiful the flames are, and how she wants to stay and watch them burn. (I have so much headcanon about this scene.) It's also plain from the books that Cersei is impetuous, and either unable or unwilling to predict the consequences of her actions.

So as regards to book-Cersel, D&D are correct to portray her as a mad tyrant. But my understanding is that show-Cersei is a different creature, and D&D really should have stayed consistent with show-Cersei.

17:49 I guessed from reading the first book that Jon was going to turn out to be Lyanna's son by Rhaegar. There were lots of clues-- Ned's adamant refusal to allow any gossip speculating about the identity of Jon's mother... his flashbacks to Lyanna's "bed of blood" and her exhortations for Ned to promise her something... Ned's thinking about finally telling Jon the truth... Mormont telling Dany that she was like her brother Rhaegar *because she was stopping rapes*.

A lot of genre-savvy readers also guessed that L + R = J; it's not exactly rocket science. Just sayin'.

i agree with everything except for the 'cercei being subtle'. her entire character both in the books and show is built on the fact that she is in no way subtle,
in fact, that was always her greatest flaw. she thinks she's just as smart as her dad and she wants to prove it to everyone despite them not taking women seriously. the problem is, she has no subtlety or nuance whatsoever so she just ends up making a mess of things

Mainly actors see it as a duty to stand by thier work in public, no matter how shit it is, but the guys here seem genuinely baffled and insulted that all their time has been wasted.

She manouvered herself into a corner because of some stupid decisions and then needed something extreme to get out (blowing up the sept). I don't think this is illogical writing.
